Battle of the Tabs

I sat down here on the couch after John left for work, macbook in lap, ready to tackle the tabs.

I’ve got more than 37 tabs open in 3 windows in 2 browsers.

My “main” window has 23 tabs open related to babies, primarily. Research that I’m doing that leads me to click a link to open in a new tab, & I either leave it to read later, read it then & need to remember to bookmark & categorize it… Or, well, I close it once it’s been read.

One open tab was the blog. I was reminded of my goal to post daily. So, here I am.
Here I am, rambling about my tabs, trying to just get myself to say:

I don’t know what to write about.

It’s true.
I’m still journeying through figuring out all these crazy health food things, and I’ve been making some really interesting foods.
But you guys know that, and I don’t have too much new on that front to update you on.

I ordered chemical/toxin free laundry detergent recommended by a friend, it arrived today.
I also ordered a new book/cookbook: Nourishing Traditions, which arrived today.
Thanks, Amazon.

Ben & Jerry’s is BOGO at Publix this week. Mmmm.
I wonder if it’s good enough that they don’t make their ice cream with any GMO milk?
At this stage in my transition, I’m going to have to say YES!

I’ve got all these “project” tabs open: tabs of research for a client website we’re working on.
But when I have so many tabs open, I can’t focus. So, I’ve got to close some tabs.

Is this “tabs” battle a battle for anyone else or am I fighting this solo?
I feel like I’ve been brainwashed into being so distracted all the time that I never get anything done.
Maybe this is American culture. Or the way of the interwebs. Or a combination of the two.
Or the way that’s been led to by the industrial revolution.
Or maybe it’s just my crazy distracted self getting lost in a sea of possibilities.

First things, first.

This week was a week of firsts.
Let’s list:

First batch of kombucha that’s double fermenting on my counter, ready to drink on Sunday!
Thanks, Jen for giving me the scoby so this could happen!

First jar of kefir that’s fermented overnight, ready to drink for breakfast in the morning!
(Thanks again to Jen who donated grains for me to start my little ‘pet’ kefir!)

First time making my next batch of kombucha!
Can’t wait to drink more of this delicious stuff!

First time registering for any baby items.
So much fun, it’s really setting in that we’re going to be parents!

First time drinking Fermented Cod Liver Oil (in case you’re curious, it was the cinnamon tingle blend).
Surprisingly not as bad as I expected. Chased it with Simply Orange & Mango juice.
In the future, I think I’ll chase it with kombucha.

First time trying on maternity clothes.

First time going shopping for groceries/household needs more than once/week.

First time experimenting with cooking.

First time I talked to myself, out loud, in public.
I’ve been cooped up in the house alone too much since we’ve lived in Lakeland. Seriously.

First time I wrote about ways we want to raise Baby Roque.

First time I really looked pregnant, fully clothed. (Added by John).
