I love it!
Deer Hunter was interesting… sad… gritty. curious on your thoughts…

Taxi Driver is one of my all time favorites!! Young DeNiro (and Jodie Foster and Harvey Keitel) You will recognize a lot of quotes from this movie, as well. (Lots of DeNiro films on this list – he’s the best.)
I noticed you didn’t pick Shane or Unforgiven. Both are really great westerns, even if that’s not your thing. Shane is a total classic. I guess maybe Unforgiven is too, but since I can remember when it was in theaters, I hesitate to call it that, heh.
And I can’t believe you haven’t seen Mr Smith Goes to Washington. We watched that one in a school. Another good one π
Lee Anne, you should see Raider’s of the Lost Ark sometime, even if it’s not part of this project. It’s a cult classic of my generation. And you MUST watch Godfather Part II – it’s the best of them all. If you loved the first one, you’ll LOVE the second one (another young DeNiro. sigh, I β€ him)
(Also, I noticed you haven't marked through 12 Angry Men as being watched.)

I laughed when I saw that the only movie that would not be watched by you two is Lord of the Rings. Josh actually tricked/made me watch it for the first time this week. I had been resisting it for so long and it turns out to be quite an interesting story. The effect alone are worth another consideration. However, I think a big help would be to have subtitles. I kept on asking Josh “what did they say?” and he would have to explain it to me. However, its won so many awards. I can see why.

I too am amused by and curious as to why you won’t watch LOTR.. I’ve never seen these movies, other than random 20 minute pieces, but seek to understand the aversion!
Also – one of my favorite movies of all times is on here and I’m very curious to see your reviews.. some people love it and others not so much. I’m not telling you what it is so that LeeAnne won’t feel bad reviewing something so dear to my heart!! haha
Enjoying your 50/50 so far, living vicariously through your movie watching!
