This is our 100th post on the We Roquemore blog.
I’ve got too many drafts. Drafts I hope to post soon.
John assures me that he wants to start writing for our blog a lot more, because he’s got so much going on in his sweet head.
I’ve got several baby related posts coming your way, but you’ll just have to wait!
We have an appointment on Tuesday where we’ll get to hear the baby’s heartbeat again, and we’re 4 weeks from seeing our little one on the ultrasound screen! Woo-hoo!
For the 100th post, I’d like to get your feedback on something I’ve been seriously considering…
My hair is getting super long, and I’m so frustrated about what to do with it. I’d like to know:
Should I do dreadlocks?
Let’s play myth busters for a moment before you ‘lock’ in your votes! (Haha, Get my dreads joke?)
Important Myths to Dispel
#1 – Dreads are gross because you can’t wash your hair.
False, you need to wash your dreads regularly.
#2 – You have to shave your head when you’re tired of them.
False, you have to cut off a lot of the hair, but it’s about how short it would be if I did Locks of Love again.
The Dreads Debate: Vote Now

PS – John really wants me to get dreads… If that’s any help in your voting decision making.

If there had been a “hell no” option, I would have picked it 🙂

I have dreads and I really like them! I have had them for over a year now! The starting process is a looooong one. They do require some time consuming maintenance if you have straight/semi straight hair. Like me (super straight) They just need some extra love tightening up. They are great though! If you make sure they are narrow then they most likely wont smell. The only times mine have gotten close to smelling are when I am backpacking for a while, (that is also when the look the best :)) I hope for you the best in deciding. If you have long hair right now make sure, if you do start them, you find someone who is incredibly dedicated because they will take a while to start! O yea, when you want them to go away you will have to cut them off and have REALLY short hair. Hope this helps!

Mrs…I would LOVE to see you with dreads!! I think they would look awesome on you! I believe there are certain times in life when you can have fun like this and I think this is your time. When Baby Roque comes into this world, you will more than likely find yourself wanting shorter hair due to Baby Roque puling at it, bending over poopy diapers at 1 in the morning, etc.!! So I say for the next 6 months or so…GO FOR IT!!! 🙂
