6 Days! And six dates we loved…

Today was a crazy day.

(Hence the late night post).

Too many happenings to even try to post about today.
Tons of excitement for the upcoming event that marks the transition into our new life together.
Thank you, Jesus.

Here are six of our favorite date nights:

  1. Friday, 30 May, 2008 : (John considers this our first date).
We (Roquemore) went to Status’s movie night in the Gallery & we watched Indiana Jones. Lee Anne was quickly bored and wanted to get to a place where we could talk more. So… we went to John’s little brother’s show at Austin’s Coffee & Film, and talked for a few hours, followed by a walking around Lake Eola and chatting into the wee hours of the morning.
  2. Saturday, 31 May, 2008 : (Another date that’s only considered a date in retrospect.)
We (Roquemore) went to Aroma Coffee & Wine Bar where John bought Lee Anne her first glass of wine.
He proceeded to stick around through her journey through wine: whites, blends, and now her favorite is red. He also predicted that would happen on this, the first glass of wine.
  3. Friday, 05 June, 2009 :
Leu Gardens in Winter Park hosts movie nights on the second Friday of each month and John planned a surprise date night for Lee Anne but when we arrived at Leu Gardens and Lee Anne had dressed up in heels & a strapless dress to discover that they were going to sit outside on the lawn for the next 2 hours to watch “Roman Holiday” she wanted to go home and change.
So, she did. Then, instead, we went to see “I Love You, Man” in the cheap theatre after we filled Lee Anne’s shoulder bag with all sorts of homemade snacks that we munched on through the whole movie. We laughed and had one of our most fun and relaxed nights this year. 🙂
  4. Friday, 27 February, 2009 :
We chose to have a night in, (at Lee Anne’s parents’ house), to watch a redbox movie: Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium. It was fantastic, and we had so much fun together. After that, we shared a canvas on the dining room table and painted a picture together. It may be the ugliest piece of artwork in the world to any other person, but to us, it’s beauty.
  5. Saturday, 13 September, 2008 :
    New York City.
We went to a little hole-in-the-wall pizza place followed by PinkBerry and then Comic Strip Live comedy club. We walked for an eternity, laughed until our bellies were sore, and shared a great evening out on the town in NYC.
  6. Sunday, 08 Novemeber, 2009 :
    New York City trip #2.
We arrived from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where we had attended Jen (Miller) Cless’s wedding and had a blast dancing together…  We did an engagement photo shoot in Times Square and random other places on the streets of the Big Apple, walking miles in high heel boots, and then…
We discovered (FREE!) ice skating in Bryant Park. We couldn’t help ourselves… and I must admit, it was one of the most epic moments of my life. The cool night air was beautiful beyond words… the way we managed to weave through the crowds of people on the ice, not falling down, not losing hold of each other’s hand… it was absolutely, by far, the best and most romantic date I’ve ever had.

My sweetheart, how our date nights have filled my boring life with so many joyous times.. I can’t wait for more. 😀
