Cabo San Lucas

When I was a young girl, growing up near Atlanta, Georgia, I would take vacations with my parents. They had a time share near Daytona Beach that we would sometimes vacation to, and other times, we would exchange our time share for another location. We went to really fun places like Mammoth Cave, Kentucky and Westminster, South Carolina, and many other places that I can’t remember right now.

So, when it came time to plan our honeymoon, my parents offered their time share for us to exchange.

These time shares can be exchanged to use almost anywhere in the world. I immediately started thinking about my wedding budget and what it would allow for airfare.

Then, my dad called and…
SURPRISE!

He had enough frequent flier miles to get us (pretty much) wherever we wanted to go.
Miles that would, of course, expire 8 weeks after our wedding.

And, there it was, the world at our fingertips.

I started thinking and day dreaming about all the places I’ve always wanted to go.
Maybe we’d see one of the seven wonders of the world? Maybe we’d visit the Taj Mahal. What about Bali? Italy? Ireland? France? New Zealand?

All these endless possibilities for someone as indecisive as me?
Oh, goodness.

John & I discussed all the different possibilities. Beach? Snow? Euro?
After weeks of indecision, we decided to go to my parents’ house and look at resorts with them and discuss our options.

Three hours later

still
no
decision

My sweet John & I gave up and got in the car to head back to Orlando.
We talked about all the options and, as always, came to the same conclusion: we just wanted to be together… somewhere, anywhere, together.

Okay. That’s it. Decision made. My Dad will plan for us and surprise us with his choice.

That was 2 weeks ago.

This afternoon, John FINALLY let me ask my Dad.

After jokes and what seemed like methods of torture to keep me in suspense, he finally told me:

“Cabo San Lucas.”

We proceeded to look at beautiful photos of our dream destination that has year-round sunshine and perpetual 75 degree weather.

Check it out.

Doesn’t get much better than that.
We’re supremely blessed.
(Did I mention this whole thing only cost a total of a $100 exchange fee?!?!)

In case you’re too lazy to visit the resort’s website, here are a few teaser photos:
